Childs Block Rotating

This page is dedicated to the long and winding road, we, as a couple, are traveling on towards parenthood!  Here you will find a taste of the bitter sweet journey we embarked on when we realized how badly we wanted children, and lots of them.   You'll view the ups and downs of the emotional roller coaster we have ridden daily for the past couple of years.  All we ask from you, is that you pray.  Pray for the Lords will to be done with us.  That's all any of us can do.

October-December 2002: We are so excited to start TTC (trying to conceive) for lots of little ones.

January 2003: Fourth month into it, going to see the Dr. Haven't responded well being off Birth Control.

February 2003: Finally, Dr.'s realized I needed a kick start, and so they did just that!

March 2002: 1yr. wedding anniversary! Perfect timing, fertility treatments started.

April 2003: Seven months into TTC and officially pregnant!

May 2003: 1st Dr. appt. for pregnancy. Ultrasound showed no heartbeat. Blood test confirmed miscarriage.

June 2003-September 2003: With the body still rebelling and our hearts still broken, slowly thoughts of TTC again started coming back.

October 2003: One year into the TTC process we sought out a specialist, after several possible causes and still no solid answers we decided to start trying again.

November 2003-May 2004: On our own, and still no results.

June 2004-July 2004: Second specialist seen looking for answers no one could give us before. Test after painful test and left with the same options as before, to pursue more invasive fertility treatments.

August 2004: Anxious about our 1st IUI (Inter-uterine Insemination) with fertility medications. Results are..... it wasn’t meant to be.

September 2004: Hesitant about our 2nd IUI with fertility meds.   Results again.... still wasn’t meant to be.  Anyone see a pattern forming?

October 2004: 24 months into the long, long journey we have our 3rd IUI with a higher dose of meds scheduled. The decision is made, after this cycle with the Lords help we will pursue....... drum roll please.......ADOPTION!!!!!!!! WooooHoooo. Finally an answer!

November 2004: 26th month, it hasn’t been easy, but together we did it.  We finished the last cycle of failed treatments this month.  I guess deep down we really thought “third time’s a charm”!  Although disappointing to think of all the time that has passed since we started, it’s comforting to know that we have narrowed down our options in ways of becoming parents.  We are thrilled to have one less option to consider!  We have sent off several letters to contacts we were given in many different cities and states asking them to spread the word that we are looking to adopt and to keep their eyes open!  There are two agencies we have chosen to research and now it’s just a matter of getting the facts and making a decision!  If you have anyone you think would be able to help us, email us and we can mail them a letter as well.  The more people that are aware the better our chances are!!!!

December 2004: We went to the Foster/Adoption orientation and we had our questions answered. This seems like the right road for us! We are so excited to be making progress on our journey. We finished our portfolio to send out to some people who are helping us. They are planning to keep a copy on file and help spread the word with us. This will also be used for the agency when we are ready to sign with one. Foster/Adopt through the county is looking like the best choice for us right now.  We start our classes in February of 2005 and we plan to be certified by May of 2005 if all goes well.  Things seem to be falling into place after some discouraging moments here lately.  It appears all of the things we have conquered have been helpful in strengthen us for what tomorrow may bring! Keep us in your prayers and thoughts, please.

We are so excited to find an agency to work with.  We have completed our portfolio and birth parent letter.  We sent letters out to family and friends to inform them of the great news about adopting. Everyone is thrilled; they can't wait to meet the newest member of our family. When we have more news, we'll let you know!
